Contract IT Staffing
Technical contractors on our payroll, billed at one all-in hourly rate — for project surges, backfills, and delivery support.
DetailsContract, permanent, and executive technology talent — plus full workforce programs — from a firm that assesses and builds the same environments the people we place will work in.

Start wherever the pressure is. Each solution stands alone, and several combine naturally as hiring volume grows.

DetailsAn embedded IT recruiting function for organizations hiring technology talent continuously.
DetailsYou found them; we employ them. Payroll, tax, benefits, and employment compliance handled.
DetailsSkills-gap analysis and a 12–24 month workforce plan before you commit to a hiring pattern.
DetailsThe people scoping your role also run Azure migrations, identity modernizations, and NIST assessments. A requirement is discussed with an engineer’s understanding of what the work involves — not matched on keywords.
Technical screening is structured against the same control and competency frameworks we use in our consulting practices, so ‘security experience’ means something specific and repeatable rather than whatever the candidate wrote down.
A 90-day replacement guarantee on direct hires and a six-month replacement guarantee on retained executive searches. Terms are written into the agreement before a search opens.
A quick orientation. If your situation sits between two rows, the scoping call resolves it in about fifteen minutes.
| Your situation | Recommended solution | Why |
|---|---|---|
| One project, 3–12 months, skills you do not have in-house | Contract IT staffing | Capacity without a permanent headcount decision. |
| You want to see someone work before committing | Contract-to-hire | A trial period with a pre-agreed conversion path. |
| One or two permanent roles, business-critical | Direct hire | Full-cycle search, technical screening, 90-day guarantee. |
| A technology leadership seat is open or at risk | Executive & C-level search | Retained method, market mapping, structured assessment. |
| Leadership need without a full-time budget | Fractional executive placement | Part-time CIO, CTO, or CISO under a monthly agreement. |
| Five or more technology hires this year | RPO | Cheaper and faster than repeated one-off searches. |
| Multiple staffing vendors, no visibility on spend | Managed workforce | Consolidation, rate governance, and one reporting line. |
| You already identified the person | Payrolling / EOR | No sourcing needed — we become the legal employer. |
| You are not sure what roles you need yet | Workforce planning | Model the team before you commit to the hiring pattern. |
Engineers, systems administrators, cloud and Azure specialists, security analysts, developers, and service-desk staff placed on your engagement and carried on Ventori’s payroll. You receive one all-in hourly rate; payroll, employment taxes, workers’ compensation, and employment compliance sit with us.
Best for: project surges, parental or medical leave backfills, delivery support during a migration, and skills you need for three to twelve months rather than forever.
Contract-to-hire: the same placement with a pre-agreed path onto your payroll. The conversion fee steps down over the assignment and reaches zero once the contractor has been with you for six months.
Full-cycle recruitment for permanent technology roles: requirements definition, market sourcing, structured technical screening, interview coordination, and offer support through to start date.
Fees follow the standard percentage-of-first-year-salary model used across the staffing industry and are payable on start date — confirmed in writing before the search opens.
Technology leadership changes an organization’s trajectory more than any platform decision. Our retained method treats the search as a structured assessment exercise rather than a candidate flow.
Retained searches are structured in three stages — on engagement, at shortlist, and on placement.
Confidential searches. Discreet replacement and pre-announcement searches are run without the role appearing publicly, with candidate approach handled under agreed confidentiality terms.
Fractional option. For organizations not ready for a full-time executive, we place fractional CIOs, CTOs, and CISOs under a monthly agreement — either Ventori principals through our advisory retainers or vetted external fractional executives.
Organizations that have accumulated several staffing vendors typically also accumulate inconsistent rates, uneven compliance, and no single view of contingent spend. A managed workforce program puts one accountable party across all of it.
Problems this solves: vendor sprawl, rate inconsistency for equivalent roles, gaps in onboarding and compliance documentation, and no visibility into what contingent labor actually costs.
Managed workforce programs are priced as a percentage of managed contingent spend, in line with standard industry practice, and confirmed in the program agreement.
For organizations hiring technology talent continuously, repeated one-off searches are the expensive option. RPO makes Ventori your embedded IT recruiting function — sourcing, screening, scheduling, and offer management run as a process rather than a series of emergencies.
Three models:
Best fit: organizations making five or more technology hires per year.
You keep the hiring decision, the employer brand, the interview panel, and the offer authority. We run the pipeline, screening, scheduling, candidate experience, and reporting — against agreed service levels with monthly reporting on time-to-fill, pipeline health, and offer acceptance.
When you have already identified the person, you are not buying sourcing — you are buying employment infrastructure. Ventori becomes the legal employer and handles payroll, tax withholding, benefits administration, and employment compliance.
Common use cases:
The compliance value: worker misclassification is an expensive risk to carry quietly. Payrolling moves the employment relationship, and its obligations, onto a party equipped to manage it.
Because no sourcing is involved, payrolling is deliberately priced below contract-staffing markups.
The advisory layer over the staffing practice. Before committing to a hiring pattern, model the team the roadmap actually requires — and decide deliberately what to build internally, what to buy permanently, and what to borrow on contract.
Workforce planning integrates directly with our assessment work: findings from a technology or security assessment usually name the capability gaps, and this engagement turns them into a staffing plan. Quarterly refreshes are available under retainer.
We learn the environment, the team, the technical bar, and the reason the seat exists — before writing a specification.
Role definition, engagement model, compensation or rate range, timeline, and success criteria, agreed in writing.
Targeted sourcing, structured technical screening, and a shortlist with written assessment notes on each candidate.
Interview coordination, feedback discipline, offer and rate negotiation, and onboarding coordination through to start date.
Check-ins through the guarantee period, and program reporting for managed workforce and RPO engagements.
Not sure what talent you need? Start with a workforce planning assessment — a skills-gap matrix and a 12–24 month plan usually change what you were about to hire for.
Workforce planningTell us the role, the engagement type, and the timeline. We will confirm whether the market supports the brief, propose the right model, and open the search — usually within a week of the scoping call.
Contract roles are W-2 with benefits. Rates are discussed honestly and up front. You will speak with someone who can describe the technical environment, the team, and the reason the role is open — because we work in environments like it.
Employers get a scoping call and an honest read on the market. Technologists get a conversation with someone who understands the work, not a keyword screen.
